I am happy with my weight loss ths year and I will make 2011 another good weight loss year. It's a really big year ahead for me and my family and I am looking forward to it.

Is it me or everyone?


It seems like every blog I read, that everyone has had problems with the eating during the holidays. Come January 1, everyone usually begins their diet and their new health kick lol and then you wonder, how long will it last. I know that I have to find my groove and it better last until I get to goal weight. It would really be nice to be totally at goal by my birthday....can you imagine that?

I need to start focusing and cutting back so that I am totally in the right frame of mind for the New Year. I can do this...I KNOW I CAN DO THIS! SO, let's do it and do it now!!

Buckle Down


It's definitely time to buckle down and start getting ready for the New Year. I didn't even want to get on the scale today, but I will weigh in on Wednesday and the 31st. I have to cut back this week, so that the New Year will be easier to get started on losing some weight.

I thought I would be at goal weight already, but just like every year, the holidays were way too hard to stay on plan. Next year, I have to remember that I need to drop more weight before the holidays, so that I won't feel so guilty. I think the only reason I haven't felt so bad, is because I know I accomplished a good weight loss this year.

I think that after getting accustomed to this weight, I will be adjusting my goal weight. I will want to lose more than I originally planned. For now, I will first reach the first goal weight and then I will continue. I want to get my dress for the wedding in February, so it is time to buckle down and start the New Year the healthy way!

Holidays

I am officially going to stop beating myself up and I am going to take a break from the blogging until the New Year. I have so much to do and not enough time. If I find time, then I will blog and if not, then I just won't.

I plan on doing lots of exercise these last 2 weeks of the year and I plan on eating right. I want to start out the year weighing in at least at 145. I will be at goal weight by Valentine's day.

I have had a luncheon, practically every day. We also had office parties and weekend parties. Considering all that, I have not done too bad.

I am proud in what I accomplished this year and I am looking forward to being at my goal weight.

I will never quit, because when you quit, you surely will never win!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.....2011 Here we come!!!

Slowly but Surely


This weekend was not perfect, but it was not as bad as it could have been. haha isn't that a load of shit lol. On Saturday, I had a lunch/dinner at SteaknShake. I had a Frisco Burger, Fries and a Mint Chocolate Chip Shake. That meal had more points then I get for an entire day. Horrible lol. On Sunday, I had a Baby Shower and though I did not eat alot, what I did eat was high in points. I had some Ceasar Salad, Fetucini Alfredo, Lasagna,garlic roll and Red Velvet Cake, Brownie and marshmellow. Another horrible meal. sucks, sucks. The only good thing was that I did not eat anything else on those days.

I must be good this week, because I have a steak dinner on Friday and Progressive Dinner on Saturday. I have nothing on Sunday, so that will be a day of exercise!

The new Weight Watcher program is not so easy and I still need to read all the material. I will continue doing it the old way until I am ready.

I will be walking as soon as I get home!!

Weekend Time Again


I went to Weight Watchers yesterday, but I did not look at the weigh in...I was too scared hahahaha.
They have a new program, that seems more complicated, but it makes sense because now they are taking carbs, proteins, fiber and fat into consideration. Fruits and Veggies are now zero points, but all the little 100 calorie snacks are higher in points. You also get more daily and more weekly points.

Let's not whine about any weight gain, but instead, let's do something about it and get back in the swing of things.

I will have my weigh in here on Tuesday and I will eat properly this weekend and definitely will be exercising.

I will also be decorating for the holidays and enjoying my home.

Happy Thanksgiving!


I have not fallen off the earth, I am still here lol. I have been scanning pictures and haven't made time for blogging. I am almost done with this project and then I will be more diligent about writing on a daily basis!

I haven't been doing horrible, but I haven't been doing well enough to lose weight. I will have a weigh in on Monday and start fresh to see if I either lose weight in December or at least maintain.

This is such a difficult time of the year. There is so much socializing and eating. I try to taste most of the stuff and not eat too much of it!

I count my blessings and one of them is that I was strong enough to lose some weight this year. I have gotten rid of 25 pounds and I NEVER WANT TO SEE THEM AGAIN!!!

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving Day and a wonderful long weekend!!

I have to find the way to beat it and continue on my path to goal weight. There are 6 weeks left in this year and I want to make them count!!!

Falling off the Wagon??


Falling off the wagon is NOT a good thing. It seems like saying no to goodies is getting harder and harder. It sucks. The good thing is that it is only November 11th, so if I were to start being disciplined, I could still reach goal by the end of the year!

I gotta find a way to stay focused!!! ayyyyy On Friday is the Key Largo Bridge Run and I will be walking 10K.....the bad part is that I will be going out with friends in the evening for "all you can eat stone crabs" hahahaha sooooo is that a balanced day? I'll have to make up for it on Sunday!!

It ain't easy, but I won't give up!!!

Stop the Rain!

Stop the rain, or at least stop it in between 5:30 - 8:30pm lol. I didn't get a chance to walk last night due to all the rain, and it has been raining all day today also! I didn't get to blog yesterday, because I was so busy! I was going to do it last night, but I started organizing some pictures and seeing some of Sharrie's wedding pictures and before you know it, it was past 11pm.

I did GREAT yesterday in the eating department. The entire day was perfect. I did my exercise and yes, I was hungry, but I kept drinking water until it was bedtime. I was happy when I went to bed and realized that I finally did one perfect day. I plan to make today another perfect day also! I have to drop some weight, so that I can enjoy the Thanksgiving feast that is just around the corner!

Time to Get Back on Track

I had all intentions to weigh in today and I totally forgot. It is amazing how quickly you can get lazy. Maybe I subconsciously did not want to know what I weigh? maybe lol

Yesterday, I was so tired, but I forced myself to grab my music and walk for an hour. It felt so good, once I was done!

I have many luncheons planned ahead, but I have to start controlling everything else. It is too easy to make excuses to get off plan. I must exercise daily and start sticking to plan. Starting today, I will eat healthy and focus on what I need to do!
I will definitely take a weigh in next Monday, which will be November 1 and I have nothing planned for the weekend.

Gotta do my groceries tonight! It ain't easy, but I won't give up!

busy busy busy....

omg, I have not had enough time this week for blogging!

My sweet aunt was sick and then she passed away this morning. She died in her sleep, just the way she wanted it. She was very special and I will miss her terribly.

Eating has not been the best, but I have made time to do my walks after work. I gotta get in the swing of things and start remembering what my goals are.

Tomorrow I have the day off to take my mom to all of her doctor's appt. I will post on Friday.

I am going to be walking a 5K Race for the Cure for Breast Cancer tomorrow morning!! I am going to make this a weekend of lots of exercise and eating right. I have to find a way to break this damn plateau. Let's see what the scale says on Monday

Beware





Beware, cuz its everywhere!!! No matter where you turn, someone has candy on their desk. The only defense is to be prepared and have your own legal goodies at your desk. Every bite of candy probably has one point or more!! So imagine how many points you can accumulate in a day!!

If you want to lose weight, your best bet is to STAY AWAY from all the candy and just don't have ANY!

Rain =(

I definitely do not like it to rain at the time that I get home, because that is when I do my exercise. Yesterday it was raining alot, and I got involved with indoor projects and so I did not do any exercise. I could have turned on some exercise routine on tv, but I did not. The fact is that I enjoy exercise outdoors, but I really have to force myself when it is indoors. It just is never easy lol. It's been raining in Miami, on and off all day, so I will hope that by the time I get to Key Largo, that the sun will shine and I will get to do a good walk!!! Let's pray!!!

Halloween is on its Way!!


Normally, I would start buying alot of candy already for Halloween and what would happen is that it would be all eaten prior to Halloween and then I would have to go out and buy a new batch for the neighborhood kids. Not this year!!! No candy until the day before Halloween!!! No temptations need to be in the house.

As it is, I always have chocolate Hersheys, in my mom's room, because she loves to eat it. Sometimes it is very hard not to touch her candy =) lol If we can just skip over Halloween, then the holiday season would not start for another month on Thanksgiving! So we have about 5-6 weeks left before Thanksgiving. Are you going to be ready, weight wise? I am!!!

Can you say HUGE?

Huge...that is what I see now! I was morbidly obese, as they say in the medical field. I knew I was somewhat heavy, but I certainly didn't see what I see now. I was killing myself by means of overeating and gaining weight. I look at that picture, and I cannot believe that I allowed myself to get that way and that no one sat down to seriously talk to me to tell me how horribly FAT I was.

My eyes are open now, and I will NEVER EVER let myself do that to my body again. I deserve the best and the best is to eat healthy and properly and to exercise my body. It is so simple, yet in those days, it just did not click. And it's funny, because even when you are doing Weight Watchers, you can eat absolutely everything, but it just has to be in the right portions. So it's not like I am suffering now, or I am starving, but now I am eating correctly, exercising and all this still includes space for some chocolate in MODERATION!!!

A new mindset, a new me. Thank God!!!

Do Plateaus Actually Exist?

I was reading on what to do if you hit a plateau, and here are the suggestions.

Up the calories for two days and lower them for two days and do this for a couple of weeks.
Split the workouts so that you are boosing your metabolism.
Change the exercise routine.
Move around more in your daily schedule.
Get Real, by actually analyzing what you are eating and getting back to basics.

So what I will be doing is that while I walk for an hour, I will jog at least 1 minute every 10 minutes of walk time. During work hours, I will make it a point to take a little walk every hour. Lastly, I will be doing the 13 day diet beginning tomorrow, because this will reduce my carb and sweet intake.

I won't give up. I WILL BE AT GOAL WEIGHT BY THE END OF THE MONTH!!!

What Was I Thinking??????

Really, what the hell was I thinking? How did I allow myself to get like that. I am scanning old albums, and when I come across a picture like this, it pisses me off. Did I not see what was happening in the mirror? I know that I was not happy with my body, yet I did nothing about it. If I could do it all over again, I would take care of my body as if it were gold. I would NEVER let myself get more than 10 pounds overweight. We were living to eat, with no exercise, when you should eat to live with exercise.

I guess, we can't erase the past, and my body will never forgive me for it, so all I can do is change my present and future. I will continue my exercise and eating moderately and healthy.

Ok, so I lost a pound since last week, but I was aiming towards 139!!! 139, a number I am having difficulty getting to!!! This weekend I had lots of friends over the house and we ate and drank alot!! I have nothing going on this weekend, so I will make sure that this week should be a good week!!

I didn't have a good day today, so far, because since it was Customer Service Week, there was also food everywhere!!

I have NOT had any today!!! Not three, not two not one....NONE !!!

That will be a good start to a very hard weekend. It is party time all weekend, so it will not be easy. I will do my best and Monday, begins the 13 day diet!!

I have a breakfast also tomorrow, for one of the neighbors that has reached goal weight!! I intend to wake up by 7am, do an hour walk, shower and go to the breakfast. My party begins at noon, so I will try to leave everything done by tonight.

Many Inches of Fat

No, that is not me, but I do still have alot of fat still on me. All the fat will not go away, unless I stick to my diet and get to my goal weight. Though 135 is my goal weight right now, I will have to get there first to know how much more I will need to lose.

I am hoping that when I get home, that it will not be raining, because my body is craving a really good walk!!!

I have a high school reunion at my house on Saturday, so eating and drinking is going to be hard. I will give it my best shot though!! I know that on Monday, I will start my 13 day diet!!!!

It has been raining like crazy since yesterday and the streets and the mood have not been set up for my usual walking. It sucks!! Then when I don't exercise correctly, everything else goes downhill.

Today it will be raining when I get home, but after I organize my home somewhat, I will do my tv DVD, and I will also make it a point to cook correctly. I have all the right intentions, but I need to follow through!!!

Of course if I skip breakfast, I will be starving and I will eat chocolate!! Chocolate is a food that is addictive, so you eventually want more. so NO MORE CHOCOLATE!!! That's it, NO MORE!!

I have to remember also, that I have a challenge with Laura for 6 weeks, until Halloween. I need to stick to this, so that I can be at goal prior to the holidays!!!

Weigh In and Weekend Update




Today's Numbers:
Starting Weight: 170lbs
Last Weigh In: 140.9 lbs
Today's Weigh In: 143 lbs
Weight Loss This Week: - 2.1 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 27 lbs
Goal Weight: 135 lbs

Do you see that red font...THAT is a WEIGHT GAIN!!! shit lol .... WhY??? Well, its simple, I ate too much, I drank too much and I didn't have time for all my exercise!!!! A perfect recipe for disaster!!!
What do you do when this happens? You buckle down, get back to basics and stay on a straight line!!! NO MORE deviations !!

The pictures above are some dinners that I had made... A shrimp pizza and a Cottage cheese Lasagna.....BOTH were delicious!!!

This week, I am cutting back on the Carbs and the sweets!!! It is time to hit that 139!!!

Lookout Weekend, Here I Come!


I am ready for the weekend!!

Yesterday, we went out to eat at Outback's for Herman's birthday. I did pretty good. I will post pictures later.

I need to really do my exercise and eat right, if I plan on hitting the 139 mark!! aghhhh it ain't easy lol. I have a party tomorrow night, so that will be another challenge! I really really need to get into the 130's!!!!

Happy Birthday to Herman



Yes, today is Herman's 53rd Birthday!! I am wishing him all the love, health, wealth and happiness that he deserves. May all the fairies and stars and moons make all his wishes come true!!


Today we are going out to dinner for some coal fire pizza. I will try to just eat one slice with a diet drink. I am stuffed right now, because of the big salad that I just ate, so that should help control me.

How do you lend a helping hand to someone that is in need of losing weight? Talk about a tricky question! I believe that you cannot help anyone, unless they want to help themselves. I guess you can provide motivation and inspiration and maybe that will be the push they need to get started.

Sometimes I wonder if I have helped anyone with their weight loss? I'll never know, because I know that many people read this, but they don't take the time to leave a comment. That's ok, because this blog has helped ME tremendously!!! At the end of it all, weight loss is a personal, individual thing that one must do for themselves. It's all up to you, it is your choice.

Walking Schedule


I was measuring my walking route and will now be doing a new schedule. On Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays, I will walk the short route....3 miles, about 50-55 minute walk. On Wednesday and Fridays, I will walk the long route of 4.5 miles, about 1 hour and 20 minutes. On Saturdays and Sundays, I will walk the long walk in the morning and the short one in the evening. On weekends, I want to do some biking also.

I need to start doing crunches more consistently, so I will start doing 50 crunches daily.

By mid October, I want to begin going to the gym at work. I need to start doing some weight resistance.

So that is the schedule that I want to keep till the end of the year. For the new year, we will come up with something new.

Weigh In and Weekend Update

Today's Numbers:
Starting Weight: 170 lbs

Weight Loss this Week = 1 lb
Total Weight Loss: 29.1 lbs
Goal Weight: 135 lbs

Ok, so I gave it all I got and didn't make it to 139, but at least I lost a pound. I guess what they say is true, about the closer that you get to your goal weight, the slower the pounds come off. Maybe I need to lower my goal weight hahaha.

Well, now that I think about it....I did have Ada at the house from Sunday to Wednesday, and we did have some big dinners. I also had one social lunch, which was Thai food and I kept it light.

So the goal this week is to push to see 139!!! I REALLY want to get there!!!!! This week I have 2 lunches to go out to, one birthday dinner and one party. I will exercise everyday and stick to the plan as best as possible!!

Do you realize?

Do you realize that there are 6 weeks before Halloween?
Do you realize that there are 2 months before Thanksgiving?
Do you realize that there are 3 months before Christmas and New Years?

Where do you see yourself for those holidays in terms of your body weight?

I will tell you where I see myself...I see myself at GOAL WEIGHT!!! I do not want to be strict dieting during the holidays. I want to eat at parties and not feel guilty. I want to be on a maintenance plan during the holidays. So, for this to happen, I MUST sacrifice NOW!!! I have to make this happen now, so that I can enjoy the holidays, the way I plan.
