Slowly but Surely


Every little bit, gets me closer to my goal!!

On Weigh in Wednesday, I showed a loss of 2.2 lbs.  I am super thrilled with that!! At Weight Watchers on Thursday, it showed that I stayed the same.  Now remember each weigh in, is a separate week.  I believe that last week I had a drop in scale after the Weigh In Team Meeting, so slowly but surely I am getting closer to my goal.

I can't wait to get to 139!!  Though that is not my goal, that is my next goal!!

I have a party tonite, Halloween party tomorrow and another party on Sunday!!!  I really have to stay focused and I WILL!!

Frame of Mind



Your frame of mind is so important in reaching your goal! You need to get rid of all the negative thoughts and think that your goal is achievable.

Everytime I start losing weight, once I get close to my goal, I seem to let it go.  I don't know why I do that!!  This time, I WILL make it. I am in the right frame of mind and I know that it is possible to get there.  It won't be easy, but it will be worth it.

Today is Weigh In Wednesday, where the group gets together tonite to weigh in.  I am looking forward to it. I just need to lose one pound, but I think I have done better that that.

Weigh In



Monday!!!

Starting Weight: 157.7

Last Weigh In: 143.2

Todays Weigh In: 143

Weight loss this Week:  .2 lbs

Total Weight Loss: 14.6 lbs

Goal Weight: 129

Pounds left to goal weight........14.5 lbs

Slowly but surely!  Two tenths of a pound...hopefully its water retention and I get a weight drop in the next couple of days.  I am aiming towards a 4-5 pound lost on a monthly basis.  So though it is a slow process, at least it is working and remember that I want to make this a lifestyle change!

During the parties, I was in control. I tasted everything that I wanted in small portions and I had a great time, so the weekend was a success.

Wednesday will be the next group weigh in and I want  a 2 pound loss!!!  I want to do some walking today and tomorrow and continue eating right.

Weight is such a battle, lol, but I shall win!

One Pound


Today was Weight Watchers and I did not lose a pound, I lost a pound and a half!!!!  I feel great that between my three weigh ins, I am losing consistently on each one!!!!

I used to get mad when I wouldn't lose 3-4 pounds per week, but looking at what one pound looks like, it will always remind me that no matter what you lose, that you are headed in the right direction.  A loss is a loss and I will be damn proud of it!

Next weigh in is on  Monday for the Blog......I have 2 parties this weekend, so I must stay focused!!

I lost two pounds!!! woooohooooo!!  I have been doing really good.  There are always events going on, but I am in the Zone!!

Yesterday, I did alot of yard work and cleaning and I was so tired that I didn't feel like eating.  Not eating is not a good thing, so I cooked up my fish with tomatoes and I definitely felt much stronger.

I can't wait to weigh 139!!!!!!

Patience



Patience is needed while you are on a journey of weight loss.  It won't happen overnight and sometimes when you think things should be happening, they just might not. Patience will pull you through.

I just spent 2 weeks, barely losing anything, but eating right, and then finally today, I had a drop. yaaaaaay!!! I just had to be patient as I eat healthy.

Yesterday, I had my group weigh in and all it showed was a .2 weight loss after 2 weeks.  That wasn't much after eating so good.  What you lose in a month, is more important than what happens in a week or so.  I know that I am eating right, and I will just continue this until I reach goal weight!  And while I do this, I will have lots of patience!!!

Ok, so I didn't show a weight loss this week, but I have been doing great!  I hope the scale just drops overnight lol.  I think I need to start doing some exercise.  I did clean up my garage, so I can access my treadmill and I brought in the mat to do floor exercise while I watch tv.  I feel so much better and thinner, so I won't get too mad at that scale.  I know I am being healthy and that is what is most important.  The scale will eventually catch up lol

Wednesday is our group weigh in, so one pound must be lost before then, or else I must pay $5.  lol Hell NO. lol

I have my packed healthy lunch and I am ready for another great week.

Yesterday, I made this yummy Chicken Fajita Soup - DEEEEELICIOUS!!!



Here is the Recipe:

Chicken Fajita Soup

2 big Chicken Breast on bone

1 Lg can of Chicken Broth

1 Potato, cubed

1 cup shredded carrots

1 Medium onion, chopped

1 can of black beans

2 garlic cloves

3-4 celery stalks

2 bay leaves

2 Packages of Ortega Taco Mix

Cilantro Bunch



Garnish:

Green Onions sliced

Shredded cheese

Chopped cilantro

Tortilla Chips

Sour Cream

Avocado



Cook chicken in the chicken broth. (add more water to cover the chicken). De-bone the chicken.

Add chicken back to that broth and also add the potato, onions, carrots, garlic, bay leaves, celery and cook until tender. Add salt and hot sauce to taste.

Stir in taco seasoning, black beans and cilantro.

Lunch



This is a typical lunch for me. 3-4 ounces of BBQ chicken, mushrooms and a Sweet Butter Lettuce Salad with pumpkin seeds, a few almonds, grapes, cranberries and granola, with some Simply Dressed Pomegranate Vinaigrette.

When I don't make a salad, I usually will have tomatoes with my chicken.

This meal is very tasty, healthy and satisfying.

When you are eating what you like, there is no reason to not do it.  This is not a diet, it is just a healthy way to eat!

Here is what I eat.





I am doing the Weight Watcher plan, but I am also keeping it low on carbs, low on fat, and high in protein and fiber.

It is very simple and it is also about portion control. I usually eat about 3-4 ounces of protein per meal.  I eat every 3 hours and drink plenty of water.

I usually BBQ some chicken on Sundays and I have that everyday for lunch with either a salad or tomatoes.  For dinner, I have fish with some veggies.  My snacks are usually fruit.

So as you see, it is pretty easy.  I experiment with different spices, so I won't get bored.  This is healthy and totally a lifestyle change.  I love everything I eat!!!

Scale vs Melinda



Are you wondering how I am losing the weight?  First of all, my week is busy with weigh ins, so there is no time left for any cheat meals!

Here is my schedule:

Thursdays - Weight Watchers at work
Monday - Weigh in Update here
Every other Wednesday - Weigh In Team Meeting

The less cheat meals I have, the faster I will reach goal.  I shouldn't even call them cheat meals, because they are meals that I indulge myself.

Even though the scale is just a number...to me, it is an important number, because it tells me if I am eating right or not. I may not lose anything in a week, but I will in a month.  They say you should not jump on the scale so often, but I need it.  They do say that if you are on maintenance, that you should jump on the scale daily!!!

Tomorrow, I will tell you what I have been eating!!
