Don't Let Anything Stop You


Don't let anything stop you!!! Not even rain!! It is just an excuse!! Go to the gym or turn on the TV and exercise to a DVD or an on demand exercise show. Now a days, there are tons of ways to do your exercise, so just get dressed and go do it!!!

It is too easy to think of an excuse to be lazy.... just get dressed and go do it!!

Think of your goals!!!....just get dressed and go do it!!

I have been doing awesome!!! I haven't missed a day of walking in I can't even remember when!!

Saturday, we had a birthday dinner party and I calculated the meal to be about 50 points. That day, I walked for an hour after I woke up and I ate very very light during the day. I had not touched my 35 extra points that week, so I was confident that I could eat everything in moderation. The food was so good, and I wanted more at that moment, but after a few minutes, I knew that I was full and content.

On Sunday, I wanted to get more exercise in, so I walked one hour and thirty minutes in the morning, I landscaped for 2 hours and then I walked for another hour before going inside. I was melting with sweat, with the landscaping. I really should have showered and changed my clothing before the next walk, because my bathing suit was drenched in salty sweat. By the end of the walk, I was very uncomfortable. After I showered, I felt like a million bucks again!

Can you believe that I am 7 pounds away from my goal weight!!! amazing!!!

Sandy gave me her fat jeans and they fit me perfect, in fact, I am sure they will be too loose very quickly!!!

I Love Friday's!



Yesterday was an awesome day! My massage was very relaxing and the Jack Johnson concert was amazing!!! It was so nice to be with the family!!

Today is Friday and a nice weekend is ahead! The only thing I have planned is a Birthday Dinner for Yoli on Saturday! Since Yoli and Ada are on Weight Watchers, I am sure the dinner will be yummy and healthy!!....at least we hope!! lol

Since it is Friday, I will walk more than I normally do. I will try to get in a 1 hr 30 min walk!! The walk will include lunges, walking backward and arm raises.

Dinner will be either a zero point soup or a 1 point soup...if I am hungry! Let's see!!

Jeans

I went shopping today for some clothes because I really had almost nothing to wear. I needed some jeans for starter. I didn't know my size, so I got a 10 and an 8. Being optimistic, I go for the 8 and started putting them on....can you believe that they were toooo big!!!!! I was in shock, so I went and got a size 6 and though they fit on the waist, they were a little too big on the thighs!!! AMAZING!!! I ran out of time and did not get any jeans, but I did get a couple cute skirts and a bunch of Medium and Small tops!!!! Everything was so cute!!! Shopping is so much easier when you are not fat!!!

I still have to go back to find me some jeans, but until then, I can't wait to clean up my closet and hang all the new stuff!!

Tomorrow, I will be going to a Jack Johnson concert in West Palm Beach, so I took the day off to enjoy that full body massage at 10am and enjoy some relaxing time with the family, while listening to Jack play his awesome music!

My Knee



Can I tell you how important knees are? VERY!! You take it for granted when everything is working right, but I can tell you that whenever something in your body hurts or stops you from doing things as normal, it sucks!!


I have had surgery on my left knee, twice. It took a very long time to finally heal and start feeling better, but every so often, it acts up. On Friday, I walked/jogged and it felt great, but then the next day, it didn't feel as good, so I did not jog again. My knee was still not perfect yesterday, so I kept it to a walk only. It is so annoying when the mind wants to do something and yet your body tells you know. We must listen to our body and just go with the flow, so I guess I will run when it lets me lol.

Goal Weight: 135 lbs

Slowly but surely, the weight is going down!! I ate a little too much this weekend, but alot less than I used to eat. I did really good on all my exercising. On Friday, I got home, cooked for my mom, cooked for Herman, fed the dogs and ran out of the house for my hour walk, which turned into a jog/walk. I sweated like crazy and it felt great! I had to do everything quickly, to make it on time for a party. Yesterday, after walking 1 hour 30 minutes, I got my bike and biked for about 30 minutes of fast pedaling. Biking is definitely a fun thing to do!!

The girls got me Jack Johnson concert tickets for my birthday, and the concert is on Thursday. I took the day off, since we have to go to West Palm Beach. and guess what......I SCHEDULED MY CHRISTMAS MASSAGE for 10am on Thursday!!!! lol I received this certificate over a year and a half ago and I am finally using it!!! I have a facial certificate also, but the lady that does the facials, does not get there till 2pm and I want to leave the Keys at 2pm to be on time for the concert! I guess I will have something else to look forward to some other day!!!

A Goal


I signed up the Key Largo Bridge Run!!! I will do a 10K on Saturday, November 13. Isn't that exciting!! Last year, I walked the 5K and I had alot of fun. This year I will do the 10K and hope that my knee does well. Herman will be doing the half marathon. It is a beautiful trail over the Jewfish Creek Bridge into the stretch and back. I am looking forward to this!!

Today was Day 6 of the diet. It has gotten much better in regards to food lol

I said it once and I will say it again, nothing beats Weight Watchers!!

Lunch = Salad and Tilapia, mentos, 2 Hersheys, 8 Almonds, 1/2 cup ice cream
Dinner = Chicken and Veggies

I have some social event this weekend, so lets see how I do by Monday morning!

Scales


Every single scale is different!!! Every hour of the day, you will weigh different!!

Today at Weight Watchers, I had a 3 pound lost and weighed in at 144.5. Is the gravity different everywhere also? lol lol

I have been doing really good, so I know that my body is shrinking. Today someone at work had to take a double take of me, because they said I looked very itty bitty hahahaha I love it!!! I know I have a way to go, but it sure is nice getting these kind of compliments!!

Desk Drawer


Do you have a well stocked work drawer?

To stay on plan, you must always be prepared. We spend so much time at work, so we should have alot of goodies to be able to eat at our desk. You should have items that will not spoil. You should have satisfying items that are healthy. In a food binge emergency, you can always check to see what you have to calm your tummy.

Looking at my drawer right now, I have the following:
Oreo delite = 1 point
Cocoa Roast Almonds in little bags = 2 points
Weight Watchers Coconut Candy = 1 point
Necco Wafers = Entire Roll = 4 points
Mentos = 5 = 1 point
Godiva Chocolate Bar = 4 points
Tootsie Rolls, Hersheys and M&M's
Almonds - Habanero BBQ = 28 nuts = 4 points

Some of the chocolate that I have is candy that was given to me, that I have not eaten. When I get a chocolate craving, I will have some, within my points.

Today is day 4 of the diet.
Breakfast = One Banana Shake with Skim Milk
Lunch = Chicken Noodle Soup and another Banana Shake
Dinner = Soup and another Banana Shake

I will be walking for an hour and doing some sit ups!

Tomorrow is my Weight Watcher meeting. On their records, I have lost a total of 41.5 lbs. Hopefully, I have a good weigh in...let's see!

Eat or not Eat


Today is day 3 of the Sacred Heart Medical Diet lol lol If you thought the 13 day diet from hell was hard, this is worse!!! This diet leaves you not wanting to eat. Day one was on Sunday. On day one you can only eat fruits and the veggie soup that they recommend. On day 2, you eat only veggies and the veggie soup. At night you got to eat baked potato with butter. That baked potato tasted heavenly hahahaha

I am pushing the soup down, because by now, I am already bored of it. I puree it a little and just force it down lol This diet may work, because sometimes you would rather not eat then eat that damn soup hahahaha

Why do I put myself through this eating torture, when I love to do Weight Watchers lol lol I will tell you why, it is so that Herman sticks to something and doesn't go crazy lol I have to get him to goal weight quickly, so that losing one or two pounds per week will be good enough for him.

I cannot believe that there was not a weight loss this week!! Except for Friday night's dinner, I ate well and I exercised!! Dinner at the Bonefish was awesome. For appetizer, I had 2 pieces of bread, some ahi tuna, some BangBang Shrimp and some Conch Salad. For dinner I had stuffed Tilapia with shrimp and crabmeat and steamed veggies. For dessert, we shared a Jamaican Coconut Rum Pie, which was absolutely AMAZING and a chocolate brownie with ice cream. I shared a watermelon martini with Herman. The meal was worth every bite. lol

Oh well, I will just continue eating right, doing exercise and being determined!!!

So we set sail into the weekend, with all the good intentions and now all we have to do is follow-through. Easier said than done? We must choose once again, what we will do this weekend.
I am going out to dinner with some friends tonight, so I will enjoy that dinner. Tomorrow, I will be on plan and will hit the exercise, big time!

I am hoping for a good weigh in on Monday. I will be focusing on my Goal!!

Stepping it Up!

I have decided that I will now be adding 100 crunches to my daily routine, and 15 minutes of messing around with hand weights. Can't hurt any, can it? lol

I feel like I have been lingering around the same weight and I want to see something significant by Monday!! I am thinking of taking a long bike ride on Saturday morning and putting in 2 hours of walking. It will be so hot, that I will have to add some swimming also lol

So, when I get home, I will look for my hand weights and be ready for when I watch tv. Is there anything you can do to step up your game?

One of Them Nights


Have you ever had one of them days, where you eat a bunch of different things, but nothing really fills you up or satisfies you? Well, yesterday was one of them days for me. I kept having bites of different things, with no satisfaction. I was about to eat a corn dog and when I saw that it was 5 points, I put it away very quickly. This corn dog was about 5 inches long. I just looked up the point value for a corn dog at the fair and a small one is 6 points, while a large one is 12 points...CRAZY!

We have to be so aware of everything that we eat. Sometimes we kid ourselves that we are doing really good, when in reality, the points are way over, and when you get on the scale, the truth comes out. So don't kid yourself, journal every bite and if you are within your points, you WILL lose weight. There is no magic to this! I finally put the eating under control, by brushing my teeth, taking a shower and telling myself that the kitchen was CLOSED FOR THE NIGHT!!!

Losing Weight Makes You Look Younger

Yes, it is true, that losing weight will make you look younger! Sometimes you have to let the skin get used to the weight loss, but the proof is in the picture. Not only do you look better physically, but you have more energy and you have more confidence in yourself. My soul has always been young, so now I have to make sure that my body feels the same way. It will take losing more weight and working out, and I am prepared to do both. I am worth it!!

Herman is at a 47 pound weight loss, lets see if we can make him hit 50 by the end of the weekend!

Slowly but surely lol. I did really good all weekend, but last night, we had the leftovers from the Lobster Creole, and it was a late dinner. On Friday, there was a small piece of ice cream cake and on Saturday, there was a small piece of chocolate Cake. hmmm maybe that was way too much desserts. I have such a sweet tooth!!



I definitely want to hit 139 by the end of this month, so I better buckle down and remember to say "NO, THANKS!".



I did good in the exercise dept. I walked daily and was always active.

I have a birthday get together on Saturday, so I plan to eat at home, so that I will not be starving and go crazy. It is so hard to stick to a diet and socialize at the same time. I will have to call on Mr.Will Power so that I don't screw it up! I will also wake up early and get in my exercise for the day.

5 Months till the End of the Year!

We are 5 months away from 2011. Five full months that we can accomplish something!!

I know that I will be wearing my wedding rings by the end of the year...I can't wait!!! At midnite, I want to say that "2010 was the year that I got rid of the excess weight"! And I don't want to still be ALMOST at my goal weight by December, I want to be AT goal weight and I want to be toning my body at that point!! I want to be learning how to maintain my weight. I have to make all of this happen and it will happen only with DEDICATION, PATIENCE, PERSISTENCE, PASSION AND PERSEVERENCE!! Will you be joining me in this goal? Will you be a hot mama or a spicy papa to welcome in the New Year? DECIDE AND DO IT!!!

You Can't Go Crazy!

Just because you are doing well on a diet, doesn't give you a license to go crazy off it at any point. It is so much easier to gain weight than to lose it. I have increased my intake but I have maintained the weight loss. Herman has gained close to 10 pounds. Can you believe that? He has eaten more than lately, but not to have gained so much. He needs control and a regiment, so today we started the 13 day diet again. I will make sure that he eats what he is supposed to eat, but I may add some points to mine, so that I will eat the minimum amount of points required by Weight Watchers.

Do whatever it takes to lose the weight, but DO IT!

Well my weight loss was not too good, only one tenth of a pound down, but I am hoping that the chinese food, I had yesterday, had something to do with it. I also had a small piece of cake and pudding. I can't worry too much about the number on the scale. I just have to continue my plan and keep fighting for my goals.


We took a long jet ski ride on Saturday and we had such a fun time!! We are so lucky to have paradise in the backyard!! The Keys is such a beautiful place to live.


I have a gift certificate for a massage and a facial at the Marriott in Key Largo, that the girls and Herman gave to me about a year and a half ago for Christmas lol lol . Guess what, when I reach 139, THAT is going to be my reward lol The girls couldn't believe that I haven't used it yet, but it's hard to make time. I am glad that I still have it, because I am definitely looking forward to using it!!!
