Here is what I eat.
I am doing the Weight Watcher plan, but I am also keeping it low on carbs, low on fat, and high in protein and fiber.
It is very simple and it is also about portion control. I usually eat about 3-4 ounces of protein per meal. I eat every 3 hours and drink plenty of water.
I usually BBQ some chicken on Sundays and I have that everyday for lunch with either a salad or tomatoes. For dinner, I have fish with some veggies. My snacks are usually fruit.
So as you see, it is pretty easy. I experiment with different spices, so I won't get bored. This is healthy and totally a lifestyle change. I love everything I eat!!!

Scale vs Melinda
Are you wondering how I am losing the weight? First of all, my week is busy with weigh ins, so there is no time left for any cheat meals!
Here is my schedule:
Thursdays - Weight Watchers at work
Monday - Weigh in Update here
Every other Wednesday - Weigh In Team Meeting
The less cheat meals I have, the faster I will reach goal. I shouldn't even call them cheat meals, because they are meals that I indulge myself.
Even though the scale is just a number...to me, it is an important number, because it tells me if I am eating right or not. I may not lose anything in a week, but I will in a month. They say you should not jump on the scale so often, but I need it. They do say that if you are on maintenance, that you should jump on the scale daily!!!
Tomorrow, I will tell you what I have been eating!!

You MUST be PERSISTENT!!!
If you want to see weight loss, you must be persistent! You must eat healthy and you must continue through the weekend. Sure there are special occasions, but when those days come, then watch your portion and don't undo what you worked so hard to achieve.
If you put garbage in your mouth, eventually it may show up on that scale. Limit the junk, because sometimes if you just sacrifice for a few months, it will put you in the right frame of mind. Once you are in right frame of mind, then you will have more power to control your portion size.
There are times that you eat so healthy and the scale just sits there and does not move....don't worry about it....be persistent and it will eventually drop!
Today is a group meeting day, so lets see how that goes!

Another New Beginning
So it has been a little over 3 years since I have written in this blog of mine! THAT is a long time lol
When I started this blog I weighed 170, and the last weigh in here was 157. Today I weigh 145.6.....not too shabby! I am 11.4 lbs lighter!!!!
We have a group that gets together about every 2 weeks for a weigh in on Wednesdays. That get together has helped me get my act together and continue this journey to goal weight!!! I also attend Weight Watcher at Work classes. I WILL DO THIS!
New stats:
Starting Weight: 157.7
Last Weigh In: 146.5
Todays Weigh In: 145.6
Weight loss this Week: .9 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 12.1 lbs
Goal Weight: 129
Pounds left to goal weight........16.6 lbs!!!!
I am excited for the future. I won't give up till I get to where I want!!!!

A year later, but not fatter lol....
Remember me? Time flies...
It has been so long, that it took me a while to figure out how to write on here again lol
Life is good... I have a grand-daughter now, Sophie, and I adore her!!! She is a new reason for me wanting to be healthy and fit. It takes alot of energy to run around after her and I want her to feel like she has a cool grandma that does everything with her. She calls me Mimi and I have to set a good example to her about nutrition and exercise!!!
She is my little princess!!!
Luckily, I am a few pounds lighter than my last weigh in over a year ago. But that is not good enough. I am here to make it to my goal weight, so I am here to get my act together and I am ready to be the best that I can be!!

Back on Track!

Finally, I am back on track!! I took some days off work, just to find my way and it actually worked! On my vacation, we walked, biked and ate healthy!! Now I can focus on losing some weight for the wedding!!
NO excuses anymore, cuz we are 38 days away from the BIG DAY!!! I have a dress already, but when I lose weight, it will look much much cuter on me!! Fat sucks and fat looks fat lol When you are not overweight, EVERYTHING looks nice!!!
I am looking forward to dropping the weight again and feeling right!!
